Ramachandra Rao Warns: Congress’ Time in Telangana Is Running Out
Telangana BJP president Ramachandra Rao has strongly criticized the Congress government , claiming that pensioners and retired employees are seething with anger . He warned that the Congress days in Telangana are numbered and asserted that retired government employees could deal the party a major blow in the state.
Speaking at a massive protest against the Congress government held on Tuesday at Dhana Chowk in Hyderabad, Rao accused the ruling party of treating retired employees with cruelty . “The government is betraying employees who dedicated their lives to public service ,” he said.
Rao alleged that the Congress has a long history of deceiving the people . From slogans like “ Garibi Hatao ” to promises of unemployment allowances , bogus guarantee cards , and welfare schemes that were never implemented, he said the party’s pledges have consistently turned out to be empty words . He claimed that the party routinely makes grand promises during elections but forgets them entirely after coming to power .
Despite repeated assurances , Rao charged that the Congress government has failed to release retirement benefits and has caused significant delays in implementing the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations. He said retired employees are forced to run from office to office just to claim their dues and highlighted that Telangana remains the only state yet to release five pending Dearness Allowances (DA) .
Rao condemned the government for pushing public servants , who should be enjoying peaceful post-retirement lives , onto the streets to fight for their rights . Criticizing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao ’s handling of retirement benefits , pensions , and pending DAs , he said, “‘ No money ’ has become the routine response, demonstrating the leadership’s irresponsibility .” He also alleged that nearly 40 retired employees have committed suicide due to financial stress and government neglect .
Warning the Congress , Rao said, “ BJP will not tolerate this injustice . Government employees and pensioners will ensure that this deceitful Congress government is held accountable . The anger you see on the streets today is the last warning , and the countdown to Congress’ downfall in Telangana has begun.” He demanded the immediate release of all pending dues to employees and pensioners without further delay .
