Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming crime drama ‘Police Company’, starring Harshvardhan Rane as Mumbai encounter cop Daya Nayak, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 4, 2027. The film promises to explore Mumbai’s underworld and the police operations carried out against organised crime.
The film features an ensemble cast comprising Harshvardhan Rane, Fardeen Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Paresh Rawal, Saurabh Shukla, Makarand Deshpande and Ashwini Kalsekar. With Varma at the helm, the project revisits the crime-drama universe associated with his cult film Company, bringing another story centred on the city’s criminal networks and law enforcement.
According to the film’s press release, Police Company is inspired by true events and real-life characters. The narrative explores the circumstances that led to the killing of around 300 gangsters, placing the conflict between Mumbai’s underworld and the police at the heart of the story. The makers have positioned the film as a crime drama rooted in real incidents, although further details about the storyline have not yet been disclosed.
Varma, known for his crime dramas and explorations of the underworld, directs the film. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Ram Gopal Varma serve as producers. The project is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and produced under the banners of T-Series Films and RGV Company.
The announcement of the release date gives audiences a confirmed theatrical window for the upcoming film. By returning to the world of Mumbai’s underworld, Varma aims to bring another crime-focused narrative to the big screen, with Harshvardhan Rane taking on the role of the real-life police officer Daya Nayak.
‘Police Company’ will arrive in cinemas on June 4, 2027. Further details about its teaser, trailer and promotional campaign are awaited.
