Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ unveils promo for First Single ‘ChikiriChikiri ’
The makers of Peddi , the highly anticipated Telugu film starring Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Shiva Rajkumar, have unveiled the promo for its first single, ChikiriChikiri . Directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, the film features music by Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who brings his signature blend of melody and folk rhythm to this romantic track.
Sung by Mohit Chauhan, ChikiriChikiri captures the flavour of rural romance, with “chikiri” being playful village slang for an enchanting woman, a nod to Ram Charan’s character spotting the heroine in the film. The full song will be released on November 7, just ahead of Rahman’s grand concert in Hyderabad.
According to the makers, the song was filmed on a massive scale, choreographed by Jani Master with over 1,000 background dancers in a vibrant village set. The visuals are expected to reflect the earthy tone and energy of Buchi Babu Sana’s storytelling, reminiscent of his earlier hit Uppena .
Ram Charan, fresh from his pan-India success with RRR , is said to be portraying a rugged, athletic character in Peddi . The actor has reportedly undergone extensive physical training and adopted a rustic look with long hair and a thick beard for the role.
The film’s shoot is progressing in Mysuru and Hyderabad, with the team eyeing a global release on March 27, 2026. Production sources indicate that Peddi will be a high-voltage emotional drama rooted in sports and rural tradition.
Buchi Babu Sana, who reunites with composer A.R. Rahman for the first time, has described the film as “a celebration of strength, spirit, and soil.” Meanwhile, reports suggest that the makers have already closed a lucrative OTT deal, though the platform name remains undisclosed.
With ChikiriChikiri teasing a blend of romance, rhythm, and rustic charm, the buzz around Peddi continues to grow, setting the stage for one of Telugu cinema’s biggest releases next year.
