Ram Charan Undergoes Successful Wrist Surgery After 'Peddi' Injury
Telugu superstar Ram Charan is recovering well after undergoing a complex right wrist surgery on July 27, 2026, following an injury he sustained while shooting the sports drama 'Peddi'. The 41-year-old actor reportedly continued filming several key sequences despite the injury before finally opting for surgery after the condition worsened.
The procedure was performed at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, a medical institution known for advanced orthopedic care. The surgery was led by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. S. Rajasekaran, with internationally acclaimed hand and wrist specialist Dr. Alejandro Badia and Dr. Praveen Bhardwaj also part of the medical team. According to reports, Ram Charan had suffered a TFCC (Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex) tear, a serious wrist cartilage injury commonly associated with high-impact physical activity. Doctors confirmed that the surgery was successful, and the actor is recovering well.
Medical experts have advised 6–8 weeks of complete rest, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation before he resumes professional commitments. If his recovery progresses as expected, he is likely to be discharged by July 30. The rehabilitation period is also expected to coincide with the early work on his next project, tentatively referred to as #RC17, allowing pre-production activities to continue while the actor focuses on regaining full fitness.
During his recovery, Ram Charan has been surrounded by family members, including Chiranjeevi, Surekha, and his wife Upasana Konidela, who have remained by his side throughout his hospital stay. The news prompted an outpouring of support from fans and members of the film industry, with music composer Thaman S and director Gopichand Malineni among those wishing him a speedy recovery and praising his dedication to performing physically demanding sequences.
Ram Charan's injury comes amid a series of health setbacks for several Telugu film stars, including Pawan Kalyan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Jr. NTR, underscoring the physical demands and risks associated with action-oriented filmmaking. His decision to undergo treatment at Ganga Hospital has also drawn attention to Coimbatore's growing reputation as a leading destination for specialized orthopedic and sports injury care.
