Ram Charan Turns 19 Years in Cinema: The Journey From Chirutha to Global Stardom

Ram Charan has completed 19 years in the film industry, marking a journey that began with Chirutha and later took him to some of Telugu cinema’s biggest blockbusters and international recognition. Fans took to social media to celebrate the milestone, sharing memorable moments from his films, including Magadheera, Rangasthalam and RRR.

Released in 2007, Chirutha was directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by C. Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies. The film introduced Ram Charan as the son of Megastar Chiranjeevi and featured Neha Sharma as the female lead. Music for the action drama was composed by Mani Sharma. The film marked the beginning of Charan's career as a leading actor and was followed by the blockbuster Magadheera in 2009, which significantly expanded his position in Telugu cinema.

Over the years, Charan took on varied roles, including Chitti Babu in Sukumar's Rangasthalam and Alluri Sitarama Raju in S.S. Rajamouli's RRR. The latter brought him wider international visibility as the film reached audiences across the world.

The anniversary comes as Charan is also recovering from a wrist injury sustained during the making of Peddi. He underwent surgery at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore in July after suffering a sports-related wrist injury while filming physically demanding sequences. A recent follow-up procedure saw doctors remove the cast and rods from his wrist. He is now expected to undergo 8–10 weeks of intensive physiotherapy, with his return to shooting depending on his recovery and medical clearance.

Charan had also suffered an eyelid injury while filming Peddi, requiring a minor procedure.

Meanwhile, fans continue to celebrate Chirutha and have been discussing a possible 4K re-release, though a confirmed official release announcement was not found in the latest reports. Charan is also set to reunite with Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17, following their collaboration on Rangasthalam.
