Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer 2' To Stream On Prime Video From November 12 With Extended Cut

Rajinikanth’s 'Jailer 2' is gearing up for its digital premiere after creating box-office history. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has reportedly crossed Rs 820 crore worldwide, emerging as one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema. Now, the action entertainer is set to reach audiences across the globe through Amazon Prime Video, expanding the franchise's international audience.

Prime Video has announced that 'Jailer 2' will begin streaming on November 12, 2026. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam across India and more than 240 countries and territories. The announcement comes while the film continues to draw audiences to theatres, giving fans who missed its big-screen run another chance to watch Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.

However, the release has sparked another talking point: will the OTT version include additional footage? Reports suggest that the digital cut could be around 30 minutes longer than the theatrical version. It may bring back deleted portions featuring Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan. Santhanam, whose cameo was reportedly left out of the theatrical release despite appearing in the film’s completion video, could also feature in the extended version.

The possibility has generated excitement, particularly among fans who felt that some of the film’s prominent guest appearances had limited screen time. However, neither the makers nor Prime Video has officially confirmed the reported extended cut. Viewers should therefore treat the additional footage as a possibility rather than a confirmed feature.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, 'Jailer 2' sees Rajinikanth return as the retired jailer drawn into another dangerous conflict involving an idol-smuggling network. The ensemble cast includes S J Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Rithvik, Jatin Sarna, Anna Rajan and Namo Narayana. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Vijay Sethupathi, Jackie Shroff and Vinayakan appear in special roles.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander. With its OTT debut approaching and speculation over an uncut version building, 'Jailer 2' has another major release moment ahead.
