Rajasthan Rainfall: Heavy Showers Likely to Continue Across State for Next 4 to 5 Days

Rajasthan is set to witness an active monsoon phase over the next four to five days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts after widespread showers drenched large parts of the state on Thursday.

According to the IMD, Jagpura in Banswara district recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 17 cm during the 24 hours ending Thursday morning. Asind in Bhilwara received 16 cm, followed by Jawaja in Ajmer with 12 cm and Sadulshahar in Sri Ganganagar with 11 cm. Dhariyawad in Pratapgarh recorded 10 cm, while Aklera in Jhalawar and Hanumangarh each received 8 cm. Nithua in Dungarpur recorded 6 cm of rainfall.

Several other districts, including Rajsamand, Baran, Jodhpur, Pali, Bundi, and Sirohi, received rainfall ranging between 1 cm and 5 cm during the same period.

The weather office said monsoon activity is expected to remain vigorous across most parts of Rajasthan through the coming week. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in southern and southeastern Rajasthan, with the wet spell expected to continue for the next four to five days.

The IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall, with isolated very heavy spells, across the Ajmer, Kota, Jodhpur, and Udaipur divisions between July 23 and July 25. Meanwhile, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at several locations.
