Several parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness rain, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms from Wednesday onwards, the Meteorological Department has said. The activity is expected under the influence of a new circulation system , triggered by a fresh western disturbance over the region.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur , this circulation system is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas on March 18, bringing thunderstorms , wind speeds of 40-50 kmph , and rainfall at some places between March 18 and 20 . There is also a possibility of isolated hailstorms during this period.

On Wednesday , light rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected in parts of the Jodhpur division, Bikaner division, and Shekhawati region , while the remaining areas are expected to remain largely dry. The impact is forecast to intensify on March 19 and 20 , when regions including Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions may experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and rainfall , with isolated hailstorms in some locations.

The weather office noted that the state remained dry during the 24 hours until Wednesday morning , with the maximum temperature recorded at 38°C in Chittorgarh and the minimum at 13.5°C in Sirohi .

Residents in affected areas have been advised to exercise caution, especially in regions prone to hail and strong winds , and to stay updated on local weather forecasts. The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation and issue advisories as necessary.
