In a significant development for daily commuters , the Centre has approved the conversion of the Rajahmundry to Kakinada Port train into a regular service, bringing long-awaited relief to thousands of passengers.

Previously operated as a special train ( 07523/07524 ), the service often created uncertainty due to its temporary nature. The Railway Ministry has now regularised it as a MEMU Express with new numbers 67301/67302 , ensuring consistent daily operations with fixed schedules.

The decision comes following a representation by Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari , which received approval from Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw .

The shift to a regular service is expected to lower fares , as special trains typically have higher ticket prices. With this change, passengers including office-goers, students, and small business travellers can now commute more economically and reliably.

Welcoming the move, MP Purandeswari thanked the Railway Ministry for addressing the concerns of people in East Godavari and Kakinada regions. Residents have expressed happiness, noting that the service will reduce dependence on buses and offer a safer, faster, and more convenient mode of transport.
