Filmmaker Maruthi found himself at the center of a minor controversy following his remarks about Prabhas’ stardom during the RajaSaab song event. The director casually referenced “raising collar” while talking about actors, a comment that unintentionally triggered a section of fans of NTR, leading to backlash on social media.

Soon after, Maruthi stepped forward to address the situation, issuing a heartfelt apology and clarification. In a public statement, he said, “First I sincerely apologise to every fan. It was never my intention to hurt or disrespect anyone. Sometimes in the flow of words, things come out differently from what we truly mean, and I regret that it was received in the wrong way or as a comparison.”

He further expressed his admiration for NTR, stating, “I have immense respect for NTR garu and for all his fans. I truly value the love you carry for cinema and for your hero.” Maruthi concluded by emphasizing that his words were misunderstood and hoped that fans could appreciate the honesty of his explanation: “I wanted to clarify this with complete honesty and from the heart… and I hope you understand the situation and the intention behind it.”

The incident highlights how casual remarks, even when unintentional, can stir passionate fanbases in the Telugu film industry. Maruthi’s prompt apology seems aimed at mending ties and reaffirming his respect for NTR and his supporters.
