After a week of intense heat, rains brought temporary relief to people in Telangana, but gusty winds and hailstorms caused significant damage in several districts. On Sunday evening, severe weather conditions disrupted normal life in Nalgonda, Mancherial, Siddipet, Warangal, and Mulugu districts.

Mancherial:

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and hail battered Mandamarri. Strong winds uprooted trees, disrupting traffic, while fallen electricity poles left several villages without power . Floodwater entered the Mandamarri railway station , causing inconvenience to passengers.

Nalgonda:

While the rains eased the heat, strong winds blew away roof sheets of houses . Farmers suffered heavy losses as harvest-ready mangoes fell to the ground .

Siddipet & Warangal:

Hailstorms hit Husnabad, while strong winds created havoc across the undivided Warangal district . Heavy rainfall was reported in Eturnagaram of Mulugu district .

Meanwhile, dried paddy kept in the open was soaked due to the unseasonal rain. Farmers expressed concern as their hard-earned crops were damaged , and urged authorities to take measures to protect paddy at procurement centres. They also appealed to the government for compensation for their losses . Mango orchard owners, whose crops were in the fruiting stage , also reported severe damage due to the rains.
