Railways to run 89 special trains amid ongoing IndiGo flight disruptions

In view of the inconvenience faced by passengers due to Indigo flight cancellations, the Railway Ministry has announced relief measures. Over the next three days, 89 special trains will operate across the country to help stranded travelers.

According to an official release from the Railways, the suspension of air services has led to a sudden surge in passenger traffic on several routes, particularly between metro cities and major business hubs. To ease the pressure and ensure smooth travel, additional trains are being deployed.

Under the Central Railway zone, 14 special trains will run on high-demand routes such as Pune, Bengaluru, Pune–Delhi, and Mumbai–Delhi. These trains are expected to complement existing scheduled services and manage passenger flow efficiently.

Similarly, the Western Railway has announced seven special trains on routes including Bhiwani–Mumbai and Mumbai–Shakur Basti. These services aim to cater to the rising number of passengers traveling from North-Western regions to major cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Overall, the deployment of these special trains will provide much-needed relief to passengers undertaking urgent journeys and those struggling to secure tickets in advance. The Railway Ministry emphasized that all zones are coordinating closely to ensure passengers face minimal inconvenience.
