
Railway cops trace 305 missing children in month-long Operation Muskan
In a heartening success, railway police have traced 305 missing children over a month-long drive under Operation Muskan , reuniting 247 of them with their families, officials said on Friday.
The initiative, conducted between January 20 and February 20 , focused on identifying vulnerable children found travelling alone or living on railway premises . The operation received crucial support from Mumbai Police’s Nirbhaya Pathak, ensuring swift action and care for the children.
During Operation Muskan-14 , a total of 305 missing children were traced. Of these, 193 were directly reunited with their families, while 54 were reunited through children’s homes. The remaining 58 children are currently under verification and care in railway children’s rooms, ensuring their safety and proper rehabilitation.
Officials highlighted that 18 of the children were already on police records, and three were victims of kidnappings who were successfully located during the drive.
Citizens are urged to contact the GRP helpline at 1512 in cases involving missing children or women to ensure quick intervention and support.
