Rahul Gandhi trying to make headlines, no impact on nation: Rijiju
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday criticized Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi , accusing him of indulging in “frivolous rhetoric” merely to remain in the news.
Speaking to reporters during his day-long tour in Patna, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs said the nation has made remarkable progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi . He claimed that the public would “never again” place their trust in the Congress , which, according to him, had “weakened the country” during its 60 years in power.
Rijiju’s remarks came in response to Gandhi’s recent comments on border skirmishes with Chinese forces, as cited from a book authored by former Army Chief M.M. Naravane . While Gandhi’s comments focused on alleged lapses in handling confrontations with China, Rijiju dismissed them as an attempt to generate media attention rather than address real issues.
“Rahul Gandhi is merely trying to remain in the headlines by indulging in frivolous rhetoric. However, all this will prove to be of no consequence. The country has made tremendous progress under the leadership of PM Modi. The people will never again repose their trust in the Congress, which had weakened the nation,” Rijiju said.
He further emphasized that under the current government, India has strengthened its defence capabilities, improved border infrastructure, and enhanced diplomatic engagement with neighbouring countries to maintain peace and security.
Rijiju concluded by asserting that attempts to politicize national security matters for publicity would not sway public opinion, and that the focus of the government remains on development and stability across the country.
