Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched the ‘Satyagraha’ digital platform to bring together issue-based protests across the country, saying he would support people wherever he believed truth was being suppressed.

Gandhi urged people protesting over various issues to register their movements on the platform and share their grievances. He said the initiative would provide a common space for voices that often struggle to gain attention.

“Across the country, people are fighting for their rights and too often, fighting alone,” Gandhi said in a post on X. Referring to protests involving Gen Z, students, farmers, Adivasis, Dalits and women, he said the platform would bring their struggles together on a single map.

Invoking Mahatma Gandhi, he said truth was the “greatest weapon” and urged people facing injustice to share their stories through the platform. Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, said he would do whatever he could in Parliament, on the streets or through letters to support people and their movements.

In a video message, he said protests were taking place over land, women's rights, Dalit and OBC rights, education and examinations. The platform, he said, would help organise these movements and allow his team to assess how they could assist.

Later, Gandhi said more than 10,000 people and groups had come forward within nine hours of the platform going live. He said submissions covered issues including education, corruption, social justice, farmers, labour, health, women's safety, land and the environment.

Gandhi said his team would examine each grievance and reach out for further details where necessary. Genuine struggles requiring wider attention would be amplified, he said. “This is only the beginning,” Gandhi said, adding that Satyagraha was not a one-day campaign and would continue for years.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh also backed the initiative, saying it sought to unite voices of resistance across the country. He criticised police action against protesters demonstrating over Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and said the Congress stood with citizens raising their voices against the government.
