Ragging incident at Nagar Kurnool medical college: Four students suspended

Four senior MBBS students from the Government Medical College in Nagar Kurnool have been suspended for allegedly ragging their juniors. The incident, which reportedly took place about 15 days ago in the college hostel, involved second-year students forcing first-year students to do sit-ups.

Following a complaint filed by one of the affected juniors, the college administration conducted a preliminary inquiry. After reviewing the findings, the Anti-Ragging Committee decided to impose disciplinary action. The four seniors have been barred from attending classes for two months and removed from the hostel for one year. College officials said the punishment is meant to reinforce discipline and send a strong message against ragging on campus.

This is the second ragging case reported at the college this year. On April 3, three other MBBS students were suspended over similar allegations after juniors approached the police, leading to a formal case and investigation. Two such incidents within a short span have raised concerns about discipline among students and the effective implementation of anti-ragging rules at the institution.
