The cast and crew of the upcoming Tamil romantic drama Hi came together on Monday to celebrate veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar, marking her remarkable 49-year journey in Indian cinema with a special on-set ceremony.

The event featured a cake-cutting celebration, with leading actress Nayanthara sharing a warm moment with Radhika, including a celebratory cheek kiss, while co-star Kavin joined in the festivities. Kavin, who rose to prominence with the successful Tamil film Dada , has emerged as a popular young face in the industry, and his presence added youthful energy to the celebrations. The team also presented garlands and posed for photographs in front of a portrait backdrop dedicated to the veteran star, reflecting the camaraderie on set.

Radhika Sarathkumar began her illustrious career in 1978 with the Tamil film Kizhakke Pogum Rail and went on to establish herself as one of the most versatile performers across multiple industries, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. In Tamil, she delivered memorable performances in films such as Moondru Mudichu , Keladi Kanmani , and Suryavamsam , earning acclaim for her emotionally rich portrayals.

In Telugu cinema, Radhika enjoyed a successful run through the 1980s and 1990s, sharing screen space with leading stars of the era and appearing in several commercially successful and critically appreciated films. Known for her strong screen presence and adaptability, she became a familiar face to Telugu audiences through a mix of family dramas and character-driven roles, further cementing her pan-Indian appeal.

Apart from her extensive filmography, she has also made a significant impact on television and film production. In recent years, Radhika has continued to remain relevant with strong supporting roles, including her appearance in her daughter Rayane Radhika’s film Saraswathi , a socially driven project that addressed contemporary issues and highlighted her continued commitment to meaningful cinema.

In Hi , Radhika is said to play a pivotal role, adding depth and star power to the feel-good narrative. The film, which is currently in production, is slated for release in April 2026.

The celebration underscored not only her enduring legacy but also the respect she continues to command among younger generations of actors, reaffirming her status as one of Indian cinema’s most cherished performers.
