The second edition of the Pink Power Run is all set to take place in Hyderabad on Sunday, September 28. The marathon, which aims to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer, will start at 5:30 am and is expected to draw hundreds of participants.

The Pink Power Run 2025, organized by the Sudha Reddy Foundation and MEIL Foundation, carries the tagline "Stride and Shine." This year, participants can choose from 10K, 5K, and 3K runs, making it accessible for people of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds.

Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, will join the event. Suchata encouraged everyone to participate. "We’re inviting people from all over the world to run, not just for their fitness and health, but also to create a social movement on breast cancer," she said.

Suchata also highlighted a special dinner planned during the event for children with visual disabilities and HIV from Telangana. “We want to spend quality time with them, enjoy the evening together, and learn how we can support their communities better,” she said.

The MEIL Foundation, in partnership with the Sudha Reddy Foundation, launched Pink Power Run 2.0 in August. The initiative is Hyderabad’s flagship campaign to raise awareness, promote early detection, and unite communities in the fight against breast cancer.

Sudha Reddy, founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation, emphasized the importance of awareness and early action. “Breast cancer is taking far too many lives in India. Awareness, early detection, and access to care are the three pillars that can make a real difference. When cancer is caught early, survival rates increase dramatically. It’s our responsibility to take this mission forward,” she said.

She added, “The Pink Power Run is about uniting people, saving lives, and making Hyderabad an example of hope for women across India.”

With a combination of fitness, and social purpose, the Pink Power Run 2025 promises to be an inspiring event for the city and a meaningful step forward in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women in India, with an estimated 192,020 new cases reported in 2022, making it the third most common cancer globally. Tragically, it also leads to the highest number of cancer-related deaths in the country, accounting for 98,337 fatalities in 2022.

In India, most breast cancer patients are diagnosed around the age of 51. In high-income countries (like the U.S. or Europe), the usual age at diagnosis is around 60. The incidence is notably high among women aged 30 to 64, with the peak occurrence between 50 and 64 years. This demographic is particularly vulnerable, underscoring the importance of early detection and regular screenings.
