‘Race Gurram’ set for grand re-release on Allu Arjun’s birthday
The blockbuster Telugu entertainer Race Gurram is gearing up for a theatrical re-release on April 8, marking the birthday of its lead star Allu Arjun. The film will return to select cinemas in 4K format, with advance bookings opening today at 6 PM and special early morning shows scheduled across key locations in Hyderabad.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film features a popular ensemble cast including Shruti Haasan, Shaam, Ravi Kishan, and comedian Brahmanandam, whose performance as “Kill Bill Pandey” became a major highlight.
Released originally in 2014 , Race Gurram emerged as one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of its time. It was widely appreciated for its blend of action, comedy, and family drama, along with a commercially successful soundtrack composed by S. Thaman. The film played a crucial role in consolidating Allu Arjun’s mass appeal and box-office stature.
The story revolves around two brothers with contrasting personalities, one righteous and disciplined, the other carefree and impulsive. Their ideological clash intensifies when they confront a powerful and corrupt politician, leading to a series of action-packed and humorous events that ultimately underscore themes of family, justice, and redemption.
The re-release is expected to draw significant fan turnout, especially given its alignment with Allu Arjun’s birthday celebrations and the continued popularity of the film among audiences. Special shows have been scheduled at major theatres including Bharamarambha Complex (Kukatpally), Asian Lakshmi Kala Complex, Sreeramulu (Moosapet), and Sudarshan 35MM (RTC X Roads).
