Queen’s Park Oval Names Stand After Bravo, Pollard and Narine

Trinidad and Tobago cricket icons Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine have been honoured with a stand named after them at the historic Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.

The stand, formerly known as the Trini Posse Stand, was officially unveiled on Monday as part of the Queen’s Park Cricket Club’s celebrations marking Trinidad and Tobago’s 64th Independence Day.

The honour recognises the three homegrown stars for their immense contributions to international and franchise cricket, particularly in the T20 format, where all three have established themselves among the most influential players of their generation.

The recognition places Bravo, Pollard and Narine alongside several legendary Trinidad and Tobago cricketers who already have facilities named after them at the Queen’s Park Oval. These include the Brian Lara Pavilion, Deryck Murray Players’ Gallery, Jeffrey Stollmeyer Stand, Learie Constantine Stand, Gerry Gomez Media Centre and Cyril L. Duprey Stand.

The trio has enjoyed extraordinary success in T20 cricket. Pollard, one of the format’s most prolific players, has featured in more than 700 matches, scoring over 14,000 runs and taking more than 330 wickets.

Bravo ended his T20 career with 631 wickets, making him the leading wicket-taker in men’s T20 cricket at the time of his retirement. He also scored nearly 7,000 runs in the format.

Meanwhile, Narine recently became only the second bowler in T20 history to reach 650 wickets and remains the leading wicket-taker in the Caribbean Premier League.

All three players have also built highly successful careers in the Indian Premier League, further cementing their status as Trinidad and Tobago’s most celebrated modern cricketing ambassadors.
