AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has categorically denied reports suggesting that his party was in talks with the actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for an electoral alliance. Addressing reporters in Tiruchirappalli on Wednesday night, he dismissed the speculation as “ purely the media’s imagination .”

“We have not spoken with TVK about any alliance. These talks are purely imaginary, and spreading them is misleading,” Palaniswami said, responding to questions on the alleged seat-sharing discussions. He also clarified that the BJP , the AIADMK’s ally, has not engaged with TVK for any poll pact, reiterating that “as far as our alliance is concerned, we are not talking.”

The AIADMK chief, speaking after a meeting with Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and L Murugan following the NDA rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi , emphasized that their discussions were not about seat-sharing negotiations . “We have not started seat-sharing talks with our allies. We will inform once the process begins,” he added.

On comments made by Chief Minister M K Stalin , who described the upcoming Assembly election as a contest between Delhi and Tamil Nadu, Palaniswami remarked that such statements reflected a lack of confidence. “Stalin makes such remarks because he is unable to directly confront the AIADMK,” he said.

Displaying confidence ahead of the polls, Palaniswami expressed belief that the AIADMK-led NDA would perform well and ultimately form the next government in Tamil Nadu.
