Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a notification inviting online applications for 750 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts. The recruitment drive will be conducted across multiple states, with the application window open from November 3 to November 23, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the bank’s official website, pnb.bank.in

According to the notification, candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognised university and should have their marksheets or degree certificates available at the time of registration. The age limit for applicants is set between 20 and 30 years, with relaxations applicable as per government norms.

The pay scale for the Local Bank Officer position has been listed as ₹48,480 to ₹85,920, aligning with standard officer-level compensation structures in the banking sector. The national-level recruitment will fill vacancies across 17 states, with Maharashtra reporting the highest number of openings at 135, followed by Gujarat with 95, West Bengal with 90, Telangana with 88, and Tamil Nadu with 85. Other states with notable allocations include Karnataka (85), Assam (86), Andhra Pradesh (5), Jammu & Kashmir (20), Ladakh (3), and several northeastern states with smaller vacancy numbers.

Language proficiency is a mandatory requirement, and candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the regional language of the state for which they are applying. This condition will be tested during the Language Proficiency Test, which forms one of the four stages of the selection process.

The recruitment will be carried out through a multi-stage procedure comprising a written examination, screening, language test, and a final personal interview. The bank has reserved the right to modify or adopt any of these stages depending on administrative requirements.

Applicants from SC, ST, and PwBD categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹59 (including GST), while all other candidates must pay ₹1,180. PNB has clarified that no refunds will be issued once the fee is paid, and candidates must bear any bank transaction charges incurred during payment.

Only online applications will be accepted for this recruitment. Candidates must register using a valid email ID and mobile number, which should remain active throughout the selection process. Upon completing the initial registration, the system will generate a provisional registration number and password, which will also be sent via SMS and email.

The notification advises applicants to read the instructions carefully and ensure that all required documents are uploaded correctly during the application process. No other mode of application, including offline submissions, will be entertained.

The recruitment drive is part of PNB’s plan to strengthen its regional banking workforce by deploying officers proficient in local languages and familiar with regional customer needs.

The bank is expected to release further updates regarding the examination schedule and admit card availability on its official website.
