Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann admitted to hospital for exhaustion, condition stable
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali on Sunday for a routine medical check-up after experiencing exhaustion. Hospital authorities confirmed that the chief minister’s condition is stable and he has been admitted for observation.
A Fortis Hospital statement said Mann underwent a comprehensive clinical assessment and standard diagnostic investigations. “All vital parameters are stable and within normal limits,” the statement noted. “He is currently experiencing exhaustion and has been admitted for observation and supportive care. He remains under the supervision of a multidisciplinary medical team. We expect him to be discharged within the next 24-48 hours, provided his condition continues to remain stable.”
Mann, 52 , traveled from Sangrur , where he joined AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to offer prayers at the Shri Rankeshwar Mahadev Shiv Mandir on Mahashivratri . The chief minister was scheduled to visit Fazilka to extend condolences to the family of Sa ndeep Gilhotra, father-in-law of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, and to attend a state-level anti-drug drive event in Moga on February 16. Hospitalisation has temporarily impacted these official engagements, and Kejriwal reportedly continued with the planned schedule.
This is not Mann’s first health scare. In September 2025 , he was admitted to Fortis Mohali for a week due to exhaustion and low heart rate. In 2024 , he was hospitalized for a few days after being diagnosed with a bacterial infection, and earlier in his political career, he faced minor cardiac concerns that required monitoring.
Opposition leaders have expressed concern over the chief minister’s health. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior leader Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “We hope the CM recovers quickly and can resume duties fully. Governance should not be affected.” Similarly, Congress leaders extended their wishes for a speedy recovery while urging the government to ensure transparency regarding his health updates.
Officials confirmed that Mann will remain under close observation until full recovery and will resume engagements once medically cleared.
