Punjab BJP Announces New District In-Charges, Co-Incharges Across Key Units
The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed new district in-charges and co-in-charges across several organisational units as part of efforts to strengthen coordination, improve grassroots-level functioning and ensure effective implementation of party programmes.
The appointments were announced by Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon, according to a statement issued by the party on Sunday. The reshuffle is aimed at reinforcing the party's organisational structure and improving coordination between its leadership and workers at the district level.
In Amritsar Rural, Ashwani Sekhri has been appointed as the in-charge, while Ajaybirpal Singh Randhawa will serve as co-in-charge. Ranjit Singh Khojewal has been named in-charge of Amritsar Rural-II, with Manav Taneja appointed as co-in-charge.
For Amritsar Urban, the party has appointed Rakesh Rathour as in-charge and Anil Vasudeva as co-in-charge. In Barnala, Nipun Sharma will take charge as in-charge, while Onkar Singh Sidhu has been named co-in-charge.
The party has appointed Ravikaran Singh Kahlon as in-charge of Batala, with Vijay Sharma as co-in-charge. In Bathinda Rural, Surjit Jayani has been given charge as in-charge, while Rajesh Pathela has been appointed co-in-charge.
The latest appointments come as the Punjab BJP seeks to strengthen its organisational network and enhance the implementation of party programmes at the grassroots. District-level office-bearers play a key role in coordinating activities, mobilising party workers and maintaining communication between local units and the state leadership.
The BJP has been working to expand its organisational presence in Punjab, where it has traditionally faced strong competition from regional and national political parties. The new appointments are expected to provide greater focus to district-level operations and help the party maintain closer engagement with workers and local communities.
The party statement did not provide details on whether further appointments would be announced in other districts.
