The Punjab Assembly will reconvene on October 22, with the session scheduled to continue until October 27, giving legislators an opportunity to raise issues of public interest and take up matters concerning the state.

According to an official statement issued on Friday, the House will meet at 11 am on October 22. The schedule includes a break over the weekend, with October 24 and 25 falling on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, while October 26 is a gazetted holiday.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan confirmed the schedule in a post on X, saying members of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha would gather to address public interest matters.

As per the tentative programme, the session will begin with obituary references on October 22, paying tribute to people who passed away between the previous sitting of the House and the forthcoming session.

The upcoming sitting follows the Monsoon Session, which concluded on August 10, after the Assembly was adjourned sine die. The term means that the House was adjourned without announcing a date for its next sitting.

The October session will provide a fresh opportunity for legislators to raise constituency-level concerns and discuss issues affecting people across Punjab. The precise legislative agenda and the business to be taken up during the sitting were not detailed in the initial announcement.

With the session spread across six calendar days, the Assembly's working schedule will be shaped by the intervening weekend and the October 26 holiday. Further details about the business of the House may emerge as the tentative programme is finalised.
