'Proud of Team India': PM Modi Congratulates CWG 2026 Heroes After 39-Medal Finish

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Indian contingent for its impressive performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, praising the athletes for their determination, discipline and commitment after the country finished with an impressive 39 medals, including 13 gold medals.

In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said he was proud of Team India's achievements and congratulated every medal winner for bringing glory to the country through their outstanding performances across multiple sporting disciplines.

Highlighting the spirit displayed by the athletes throughout the Games, Modi said the Indian contingent showcased exceptional skill, determination and dedication, making the nation proud on the international stage. He added that their relentless hard work and commitment would continue to inspire young Indians to pursue excellence in sports and represent the country with pride.

India concluded its Glasgow campaign with 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze medals, taking its overall tally to 39 medals. The performance featured memorable victories across disciplines, with Indian athletes consistently delivering strong performances against some of the best competitors from Commonwealth nations.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to the entire contingent for future international competitions, expressing confidence that they would continue striving for excellence and bring even greater honour to India in the years ahead.

Sharing his message on X, Modi wrote that he was delighted with India's medal haul and lauded the athletes for displaying remarkable resilience and sporting excellence throughout the Games. He said their achievements would encourage the country's youth to dream big and work hard to achieve success.
