Prompt Action on Social Media Appeal: Pawan Kalyan Sanctions Road for Gajjalavaripalli
A heartfelt appeal by schoolchildren on social media, requesting Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to provide a road to their village so they could attend school without difficulty, has led to swift administrative action. Moved by visuals of students struggling through slush-filled pathways, Pawan Kalyan responded immediately, sanctioning funds and directing officials to begin work without delay.
The students are from Gajjalavaripalli village in Kondapuram mandal of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district , where the absence of a proper access road has made daily travel to school extremely difficult. A video highlighting their hardships reached Pawan Kalyan on Friday, prompting him to hold an immediate review with the District Collector . Emphasising that children’s education should not be disrupted under any circumstances, he instructed officials to prepare estimates on an urgent basis and accord immediate approval to the project.
Within hours of these directions, authorities finalised estimates and issued orders for the construction of a 1.6 kilometre road at an estimated cost of ₹86 lakh . Once completed, the road is expected to bring lasting relief not only to students but also to farmers who have long faced transportation challenges while accessing their agricultural fields. Residents of Gajjalavaripalli expressed happiness that a simple video appeal has translated into tangible development for their community.
Meanwhile, since assuming office, the coalition government has prioritised road infrastructure development in the Udayagiri Assembly constituency . Under the ‘Palle Pandaga’ 1.0 and 2.0 programmes , along with support from SASKI funds , road works worth nearly ₹55 crore covering 641 roads have been undertaken, according to officials. As part of this initiative, ₹9 crore has been allocated for the improvement of major roads in key mandals, including Duttalur , Kondapuram , Seetharampuram , and Vinjamur . With the Gajjalavaripalli road now included in this development drive, the region’s connectivity is set to improve significantly.
