
Priyanka Gandhi Praises Revanth Reddy’s Role in Opposing Delimitation Bill
AICC leader and MP Priyanka Gandhi has praised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his key role in opposing the delimitation Bill in the Lok Sabha and for amplifying the voice of southern states . The Chief Minister met her in Delhi on Saturday.
Priyanka Gandhi lauded Revanth Reddy for playing a crucial role in ensuring the Bill’s defeat , stating that he firmly resisted what she described as an attempt to weaken the representation of southern, northeastern, and smaller states under the guise of women’s reservation . Speaking after the meeting, Revanth Reddy said she had criticised the intent behind the special Parliament sessions , asserting that the real objective was not women’s empowerment but the imposition of a controversial delimitation agenda . He added that her efforts had safeguarded the country’s future .
Revanth Reddy also effectively highlighted the potential injustice to southern states arising from the proposed delimitation and pointed out flaws in the Centre’s model , while suggesting alternative approaches , which Priyanka Gandhi appreciated. He expressed gratitude for her guidance in uniting Opposition parties under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge , and conveyed thanks on behalf of the people of Telangana.
Describing the proposed constitutional amendment as undemocratic , Revanth Reddy alleged that it was an attempt to politically weaken southern and northeastern states . He said Priyanka Gandhi’s appreciation had given him greater motivation and affirmed that his fight for national integrity would continue .
