Prime Video unveils Young Sherlock teaser, expanding the legacy of a timeless detective

Prime Video has unveiled the teaser trailer for its upcoming original series Young Sherlock, introducing Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a younger incarnation of the legendary detective and adding a fresh chapter to the enduring Sherlock Holmes legacy.

Directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie , the series presents a bold reimagining of Sherlock Holmes’ early years, blending sharp wit with action driven mystery. The show follows Sherlock as he embarks on his first ever murder mystery case in a globe trotting adventure set during the 1870s , long before he becomes the celebrated sleuth of Baker Street.

Scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2026 , all eight episodes of Young Sherlock will stream on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The narrative unfolds primarily in 1870s Oxford before expanding abroad, portraying Sherlock as a disgraced, raw and unfiltered young man whose involvement in a murder investigation threatens his liberty and ultimately reshapes his future.

The series arrives amid continued global fascination with Sherlock Holmes, a character that has enjoyed remarkable success across literature, film and television. From Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories to Guy Ritchie’s blockbuster Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr., and widely acclaimed screen adaptations such as the BBC’s Sherlock led by Benedict Cumberbatch and Netflix’s Enola Holmes films, the detective’s world has consistently delivered major hits.

Young Sherlock aims to build on this rich legacy while offering a fresh and kinetic take on the detective’s formative years, infused with the visual flair and energy associated with Guy Ritchie’s storytelling.

The ensemble cast includes Donal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth alongside Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the titular role. Guy Ritchie directs the first two episodes and also serves as executive producer.

Created for television by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, the series is executive produced by Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson, with Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson as co executive producers. Motive Pictures leads physical production for the series.
