Droupadi Murmu on Monday interacted with beneficiaries of flagship scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and underlined that education, technology, and awareness of heritage are key drivers for building a self-reliant and developed India by 2047 .

Addressing the group of tribal students at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said India has no shortage of talent, but right guidance, opportunity, and platforms are essential to unlock it. She noted that students from villages and remote tribal regions can achieve excellence when given proper support, becoming contributors to the nation’s development.

Highlighting the role of scholarship programmes, she said such initiatives are not just financial assistance but “vehicles of opportunity” that help talented youth overcome socio-economic barriers. She emphasised that many students face challenges such as limited access to quality education, infrastructure gaps, language barriers, and financial constraints , particularly in remote and tribal areas.

The President said that addressing these challenges through targeted policies, residential schools, and improved infrastructure is essential to ensure equal educational opportunities. She also stressed that expanding digital learning platforms, connectivity, and skill development tools can significantly bridge the gap between urban and remote regions.

Murmu shared that education played a transformative role in her own life and urged students to become role models through their success stories , inspiring others in their communities to pursue education. She said such success stories create a cycle of aspiration and achievement , strengthening social mobility and reducing inequality.

She further underlined the importance of technology-driven empowerment , noting that digital tools can make learning more accessible, reduce dependence on physical infrastructure, and improve access to scholarships and training programmes. These advancements, she said, are essential for building a future-ready workforce .

At the same time, the President advised students not to forget their roots and to take pride in their tribal heritage and identity . She said inclusive development is achieved when youth move forward while uplifting their communities.

She added that the youth represent the strength, hope, and future of India , and will play a decisive role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 , where growth is inclusive, balanced, and sustainable.
