
President Murmu to undertake submarine sea sortie, attend cultural and academic events
President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a four-day visit to Goa, Karnataka, and Jharkhand from December 27 to 30 , 2025, engaging with the country’s defence, academic, and cultural sectors, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Friday.
A key highlight of her itinerary is a sea sortie aboard a submarine from Karwar port in Karnataka on December 28, where the President will gain firsthand experience of India’s maritime capabilities and interact with personnel of the Indian Navy.
On December 29, President Murmu will travel to Jamshedpur to participate in the centenary celebrations of Ol Chiki, the script of the Santhal language. On the same day, she will also address the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, motivating students and acknowledging their academic achievements.
The tour will conclude on December 30 with her presence at the interstate folk and cultural gathering, Kartik Jatra , in Gumla, Jharkhand, celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity.
The President’s visit reflects a blend of defence engagement, academic encouragement, and cultural appreciation, showcasing her active role in promoting India’s heritage, education, and national initiatives.
