Preparations begin for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations
Member of Parliament D.K. Aruna emphasized that it is everyone’s responsibility to uphold the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who dedicated his life to the unity and integrity of the nation. She launched the poster for the upcoming ‘Unity March’ at her camp office in Mahabubnagar as part of the preparations for Patel’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, District BJP President Srinivas Reddy said that Sardar Patel’s contribution to national integration continues to inspire generations. He added that the Central Government has decided to officially commemorate the 150th birth anniversary across the country through a series of events under the theme ‘Ek Bharat - Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (One India – Self-Reliant India).
MP D.K. Aruna explained that as part of the celebrations, a massive ‘Ekta Rally’ - an 8-kilometre walkathon - will be held in Mahabubnagar on October 31. The rally will begin at the local stadium grounds and proceed through Telangana Chowrasta, Clock Tower, and Ashok Talkies before concluding on Pilla Marri Road. She urged citizens from all walks of life, irrespective of political affiliation, to join the march and uphold Patel’s vision of a united India.
Similar Unity Marches are being organized in all district headquarters between October 31 and November 25. Aruna called upon the youth to actively participate in the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat - Ekta Rally’ planned in Palamuru, highlighting that young people play a crucial role in carrying forward Patel’s ideals.
Cultural and educational programs
As part of the celebrations, special health camps, essay writing and speech competitions, and cultural programs will be organized in educational institutions across the parliamentary constituency. Winners of these competitions will be given an opportunity to take part in the National Ekta Rally in Gujarat, she announced.
