Premier League: City stumble at home, United’s woes continue

Manchester City’s Premier League title charge suffered another setback on Wednesday night as Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton at the Etihad Stadium, dropping points for the third game in a row. Even Erling Haaland’s milestone 150th goal for the club, scored from the penalty spot, was not enough to secure a win, with Kaoru Mitoma cancelling it out in the second half.

The draw leaves second-placed City five points behind leaders Arsenal , having played a game more. Newcastle provided the night’s biggest drama, scoring in the 102nd minute to edge Leeds 4-3 in one of the latest finishes in Premier League history.

Brentford climbed to fifth after a 3-0 win over Sunderland, while Antoine Semenyo struck deep into stoppage time to seal Bournemouth’s dramatic 3-2 win over Tottenham, possibly in his final appearance before a much-anticipated move to City.
