
Pre-Budget Review Puts Focus on Water and Infrastructure Projects
The Andhra Pradesh government has stepped up efforts to finalize the 2026-27 annual budget , conducting a series of intensive pre-budget meetings. Finance Minister Pyyavula Keshav , along with key departmental ministers and senior officials at the Secretariat, reviewed allocations and priorities to ensure a comprehensive and balanced budget.
Prioritizing Water Resources for Farmers
Ensuring timely irrigation and support for farmers across the state was a key focus. The Finance Minister held in-depth discussions with Water Resources Minister Dr. Nimmala Ramanaidu on the allocation of funds for irrigation projects, emphasizing the completion of pending schemes and proper maintenance of canals. The discussions were attended by Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar , senior officials from the Water Resources Department, and other key advisors.
Infrastructure and Industrial Development Under the Lens
The Finance Minister, along with Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy , reviewed budget plans for roads, buildings (R&B), and other infrastructure sectors. The meetings highlighted strategies to upgrade road networks, strengthen industrial infrastructure, and attract investments statewide. Funding for road repairs, new projects, and support for organizations like AP State FiberNet and AP EDC Ltd. were also discussed. Senior officials, including R&B Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishnababu and the MDs of AP EDC Ltd. and AP SFL , participated in the deliberations.
With these steps, the government aims to design the 2026-27 budget that strikes a careful balance between infrastructure development and social welfare , ensuring sustainable growth and inclusive progress across Andhra Pradesh.
