‘Pravasi andhra bharosa insurance scheme’ launched by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu

In a move aimed at safeguarding the welfare of Andhra Pradesh’s citizens living abroad, the state government has launched the Pravasi Andhra Bharosa Insurance Scheme through the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society. The scheme was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his visit to Dubai, underlining the government’s commitment to its overseas diaspora.

The scheme is designed to provide financial security and emergency assistance to Andhra-origin employees, migrant workers, and students residing abroad. It offers coverage for both accidental death and permanent total disability, with financial assistance of ₹10 lakh provided to the nominee or insured individual in such cases.

“Every Andhra citizen working or studying abroad should benefit from this initiative,” said the Chief Minister, emphasizing the government’s focus on ensuring the safety and welfare of Non-Resident Andhras.

Eligibility and coverage

The scheme is exclusively for Andhra Pradesh-origin individuals living outside India, including:

• Employees and professionals working abroad.

• Migrant workers employed on temporary or long-term visas.

• Students pursuing education overseas.

To enroll, applicants must provide proof of Andhra Pradesh origin, such as Aadhaar or domicile certificate, along with a passport and visa confirming their overseas residence. Students must also submit a student ID.

Eligible individuals can register through the official APNRT portal: https://apnrts.ap.gov.in/insurance . Registration is verified by the APNRT Society before insurance coverage becomes active.
