Pranavi’s Asian Games Triumph Gets ₹1 Cr Reward From IGPL, Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar To Receive ₹25 Lakh
Asian Games golf champion Pranavi Urs has been rewarded for her historic performance, with AM Green IGPL announcing a ₹1 crore prize for the 23-year-old after she became the first Indian woman to win an individual gold in golf at the continental showpiece.
The league also announced a ₹25 lakh award for each member of India's women's team, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, along with Pranavi, in recognition of their silver-medal finish in the team event.
Pranavi produced a composed performance at the Kasugai Country Club East Course, finishing at 15-under 265 to claim the individual gold. Her victory marked a landmark moment for Indian women's golf at the Asian Games.
The Mysuru golfer's triumph also ended a long wait for India in the sport. The country had last won an Asian Games golf gold in the men's individual event when Shiv Kapur emerged champion in 2002.
Pranavi's gold was therefore significant on two fronts, it delivered India's first women's individual golf gold at the Asian Games and returned the sport to the top step of the podium for the country after more than two decades.
Her success, along with the team's silver, underlined India's growing strength in women's golf and gave the country's golfers a major boost on one of the biggest stages in Asian sport.
The ₹1 crore reward from IGPL adds another recognition to what was already a historic campaign for Pranavi, while the team award acknowledges the combined effort behind India's silver-medal finish.
