Pranavi Urs Stays in Top 10 at Morocco Golf Event, Eyes Maiden LET Title
Indian golfer Pranavi Urs kept herself firmly in contention for a strong finish at the Lalla Meryem Cup after producing another composed performance in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday. Still chasing her maiden Ladies European Tour title , the young Indian displayed resilience and consistency to remain inside the top 10 heading into the final round.
Pranavi followed up her impressive opening round with a steady 2 under 71 to move to a total of 5 under par after 36 holes, placing her tied eighth on the leaderboard. Though eight shots behind leader Kelsey Bennett , the Indian golfer remains well placed in a tightly packed field where one strong round can significantly alter the standings.
Starting on the front nine, Pranavi looked in excellent rhythm early on, firing three birdies in her opening five holes . A couple of bogeys briefly slowed her momentum, but she quickly regained control with birdies on the 13th and 14th holes . Despite a late bogey on the 17th, she finished with another confident under par card that kept her campaign alive.
Among the Indian contingent, Diksha Dagar was the only other player to survive the cut. The two time Ladies European Tour winner carded a solid 3 under 70 to move to 1 under overall and into tied 28th position. Diksha mixed aggressive play with steady recovery, producing five birdies during her round.
However, it was disappointment for Hitaashee Bakshi and Avani Prashanth , both of whom missed the cut after finishing at 4 over par following two rounds.
At the top of the leaderboard, Bennett continued her dominant run with a bogey free 8 under 65 to extend her lead to three strokes at 13 under par . Pia Babnik of Slovenia surged into second place after matching the day’s best round of 65, while Anna Huang and Anna Zanusso shared third place at 7 under .
With momentum still on her side and the final round remaining, Pranavi now has a valuable opportunity to push for one of the biggest results of her professional career .
