
Praja Palana is Deception, Not Governance: Dubbaka MLA
A public representatives’ meeting in Dubbaka witnessed tense scenes after delays in paddy procurement triggered strong protests and a dramatic walkout.
Concerns were raised over the slow procurement process, with officials being questioned. The situation escalated when the MLA’s microphone was switched off mid-speech, prompting him to throw it aside and walk out of the meeting in protest.
Later, he criticized the government for focusing on celebrations while farmers struggle to sell their produce, saying the ‘99 Days Praja Palana’ programme does not reflect ground realities.
He also alleged neglect of irrigation systems and compared the situation with earlier large-scale projects implemented in previous regimes.
The MLA highlighted the absence of key farmer welfare measures such as free electricity and financial assistance schemes, saying farmers are left without security .
He further raised concerns over delays in funds to gram panchayats , affecting local development, and pointed to issues in drinking water supply under Mission Bhagiratha .
Calling for urgent action, he urged the government to prioritize development and speed up procurement instead of focusing on celebratory programmes.
