Praja Darbar, YSR Memorial Events Mark Jagan’s YSR District Tour

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to undertake a two-day visit to YSR District , combining a public grievance programme with commemorative events marking the birth anniversary of his father and former Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) .

The tour will begin on July 7 with Jagan arriving in Pulivendula , his political stronghold, where he will hold a Praja Darbar at the Bhakarapuram Camp Office . The programme is expected to provide residents with an opportunity to directly submit petitions and raise issues concerning local governance and public welfare.

Party leaders said the interaction is aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots engagement while enabling Jagan to hear first-hand accounts of the challenges faced by people in the region. Following the public meeting, he will stay overnight at his residence in Pulivendula.

The second day of the visit will focus on paying homage to the late YSR, one of Andhra Pradesh’s most influential political figures. Jagan is scheduled to travel to Idupulapaya early on July 8 to participate in special prayers at the YSR Ghat , where memorial events have been organised to mark YSR’s birth anniversary.

He will offer floral tributes and pay his respects at the memorial, a site that has become a focal point for YSR supporters and party workers each year. Senior leaders, local representatives and YSRCP cadre are also expected to attend the commemorative programme.

According to party sources, the visit will serve both as a platform for public outreach and an occasion to reaffirm the party’s connection with the legacy of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy , whose welfare-oriented governance continues to shape the political identity of the YSRCP.

Besides interacting with the public, Jagan is also expected to hold informal discussions with party leaders and workers during the tour, reviewing local organisational matters and engaging with cadres ahead of upcoming political activities.
