Prabhas lands in Japan for

Prabhas has arrived in Japan to promote the 4K remastered edition of his global blockbuster franchise, Baahubali: The Epic . This unified version combines both the 2015 original and the 2017 sequel directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The film is scheduled to release in Japanese theatres on December 12, 2025, with special fan events and screenings taking place in Tokyo on December 5 and 6.

This is not the first time Baahubali has reached Japanese audiences. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion premiered in Japan on December 29, 2017, and went on to complete a remarkable 100‑day theatrical run. The upcoming 2025 release is unique because it features the combined remastered cut of both films and coincides with Prabhas’s personal visit to the country, giving fans an opportunity to meet the star in person.

During his visit, Prabhas, accompanied by producer Shobu Yarlagadda, will attend fan meet‑ups and stage‑greeting events at major cinemas, including 109 Cinemas Kiba and Marunouchi Piccadilly. Interacting with fans and media, he expressed heartfelt gratitude and excitement, describing his long-standing dream of visiting Japan and emphasizing his hope to return regularly for future promotions.

The remastered edition of Baahubali: The Epic has already earned well in India. Within its opening weekend, it collected approximately ₹22.56 crore net domestically, eventually reaching around ₹33.5 crore net and ₹40 crore gross, making it one of the highest-grossing re-releases in Indian cinema history.

Japan has become increasingly receptive to Indian films, particularly Telugu cinema, which has steadily gained popularity and recognition. Franchises like Baahubali have helped establish Telugu cinema’s dominance in foreign markets, with Japanese audiences appreciating the grandeur, storytelling, and action-packed sequences.
