Ponnam Prabhakar Vows To Complete Gouravelli Project And Transform Husnabad

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has said completing the Gouravelli project and transforming Husnabad constituency into a prosperous, irrigated region remains one of his key priorities. He said the state government has sanctioned ₹250 crore to accelerate land acquisition for the project and urged farmers to extend their cooperation for the construction of canals.

Prabhakar assured that eligible landowners would receive compensation immediately after the acquisition process is completed. He said timely completion of the project would bring significant benefits to farmers and strengthen agricultural activity across the Husnabad region.

The minister made the remarks during his visit to Kondapur village in Siddipet district as part of the ‘Palle Palleku Ponnam Anna – Palle Pallalo Praja Palana’ programme. Along with officials, he reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and ongoing development works in the village.

Encouraging farmers to improve their incomes, Prabhakar suggested exploring high-value alternative crops such as oil palm. He also stressed the need to strengthen groundwater resources and called on households to construct soak pits to improve groundwater recharge.

During the village visit, the minister distributed Indiramma housing sanction documents to five families living in huts and inaugurated a newly constructed Indiramma house. He also laid the foundation stone for a ₹20 lakh building for women’s self-help groups and launched a free veterinary camp.

Prabhakar interacted with residents, received their grievances and directed officials to address the issues at the earliest.

Later, he inspected the ongoing construction of the 250-bed government hospital in Husnabad town. He instructed officials to closely monitor the project and ensure that the hospital provides modern and quality healthcare services to people in the region.

The minister emphasised that quality standards must not be compromised and directed the authorities to complete the hospital construction within the stipulated timeframe without delays.
