Ponguleti Backs UDF in Kerala, Promises ‘Five Guarantees’ and Bhu Bharati Model

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has said that the ruling LDF government in Kerala has outlived its tenure and that people are seeking change. On Sunday, he participated in a roadshow and election campaign in the Mavelikkara Assembly constituency in support of UDF candidate Muthar Raj .

Speaking on the occasion, he recalled that the Congress government in Telangana , within a short period of coming to power, had transparently implemented the six guarantees and earned the trust of the people. Drawing inspiration from this, he announced that the UDF would implement ‘five guarantees’ in Kerala once it comes to power. He particularly assured that the ‘Bhu Bharati’ policy , introduced in Telangana to resolve land-related issues , would also be implemented in Kerala.

He criticised the CPI(M)-led LDF government , which has been in power for the past ten years , alleging that it had neglected development. He further said the Left government had completely failed in addressing unemployment and attracting investments . He asserted that there is no place in Kerala for the divisive politics of the BJP , adding that the people would never support the party.

Stating that the elections are not merely about casting votes but about shaping Kerala’s future , he urged voters to elect UDF candidates with a huge majority to ensure transparent, people-centric governance . He expressed confidence that the UDF’s victory is certain , citing the positive response from the public during the campaign.

Polling for the Kerala Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on April 9 , and the counting of votes will take place on May 4 . Since 1982 , power in Kerala has alternated between the LDF and the UDF every five years . However, in 2021 , the LDF under Pinarayi Vijayan broke this trend by returning to power for a second consecutive term . While the UDF is aiming to reclaim power this time, the BJP , buoyed by its victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections , is also looking to make its mark.
