Congress TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud strongly criticized the BJP for promoting religious and caste-based politics in Telangana and creating divisions among people. Speaking at a press conference in Nizamabad , he alleged that the BJP is provoking religious sentiments for electoral benefits .

Mahesh Kumar Goud questioned whether Lord Rama had taken BJP membership , stating that whenever elections approach, the BJP ignores development and focuses on stirring religious emotions to gain votes . He urged people to reject divisive politics and support a government that prioritizes development and welfare .

Political tensions intensified after Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind proposed renaming the city as ‘Indur’ . Congress leader Sama Ram Mohan Reddy criticized Arvind, accusing him of failing to bring funds to the constituency and raising the issue only to divert public attention from his failures . He sarcastically suggested that Arvind rename himself ‘Adharmapuri Arvind’ .

Defending the proposal, Dharmapuri Arvind stated that names linked to Nizam rule symbolize oppression , and promised that Nizamabad would be renamed Indur if BJP comes to power . Telangana BJP President Ramchander Rao extended full party support to this stance, calling it a step toward cultural pride and national identity .
