Politics heats up in villages ahead of local elections

With the village panchayat elections approaching, political activity in rural areas of the state has intensified. The first phase of nominations concluded successfully, and election officials completed the next key steps in the process.

By 5 PM on Wednesday, candidates contesting for the positions of Sarpanch and ward members were assigned their official symbols. Following this, candidates began active campaigning, taking their symbols door-to-door to reach voters. Notably, a large number of young candidates are participating this year.

As the first phase of polling is scheduled for December 11, from 7 AM to 1 PM, villages are buzzing with election-related activity. Counting of votes will begin immediately after polling, and results are expected the same day.

In Kamareddy district, Collector Ashish Sangwan visited the nomination center set up at the Kankal village panchayat office in Tadwai Mandal to review the arrangements. He instructed officials to conduct the nomination filing, scrutiny, and withdrawal processes transparently and in accordance with election rules. Emphasizing the importance of accuracy in every document, he noted that even a small mistake could impact the elections.

The Collector also checked the arrangements for a help desk, CCTV monitoring, and security at the center. Officials were directed to provide clear guidance to ensure that candidates and their representatives face no difficulties during the process.
