‘Political bomb exploding in alliances’: Vijay on his power-sharing proposal
TVK chief Vijay on Friday said his proposal to share power with alliance partners including offering a Deputy Chief Minister’s post and cabinet representation proportional to the number of seats won by allies had become a “political bomb” in Tamil Nadu and shaken the ruling DMK leadership.
Addressing a rally at Seelanaickenpatti, Vijay said the power-sharing formula, first announced at the Vikravandi rally, was now being discussed across political alliances and had “rattled” DMK president and Chief Minister MK Stalin , who had rejected sharing power with the Congress.
“Do you remember my political bomb at the Vikravandi rally offering to share power? It is now exploding in all alliances. Chief Minister Stalin says power-sharing will not suit Tamil Nadu,” Vijay told supporters.
He assured voters that a TVK-led government would be driven by social justice and inclusivity, and alleged that the DMK treats alliances only as an election arrangement and prefers to govern alone once in office.
“For the DMK, the alliance is only for winning. When it comes to governance, they will be on their own,” he said.
