Police raid Madhapur drug party, arrest 11

Police in Madhapur, Ranga Reddy district, conducted a raid on a drug party late Monday night, arresting 11 people. The operation was led by Special Operations Teams along with Madhapur police.

According to authorities, the raid followed credible information that a group of young people was hosting a private party in Madhapur with illegal drugs. Police seized drugs and other prohibited substances at the scene.

"We have taken 11 individuals into custody. A thorough investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released soon," said a Madhapur police officer. Officials are now probing the sources of the drugs, the backgrounds of those involved, and possible links to other networks.

SBI employee sentenced for bank fraud

In a separate incident in Hyderabad, a special CBI court sentenced V. Chalapathi Rao, a former computer operator at the State Bank of India (SBI), Chandulal Baradari branch, to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined him ₹36,000 for his role in a bank fraud case.

The CBI had registered the case on May 1, 2002, against Chalapathi Rao and three others. It was alleged that between 1996 and 2000, he, along with the then branch manager P.P. Krishna Rao and two private individuals, processed “Big Buy Loans” worth ₹50 lakh using forged documents.

Chalapathi Rao had been absconding since 2005. The court conducted a fast-track trial and on October 31, 2025, found him guilty, awarding a two-year jail term. Cases against the other accused had been resolved earlier.
