In a major employment opportunity for government job aspirants, the Telangana government has launched a large-scale recruitment drive to fill 7,437 vacancies across its Police, Special Protection Force (SPF), Fire Services, and Prisons & Correctional Services departments. The Telangana Police Recruitment Board (TGPRB) has issued four separate recruitment notifications, marking one of the state's biggest uniformed services hiring initiatives in recent years.

The recruitment drive comes after a prolonged wait for fresh police notifications and is expected to attract lakhs of candidates from across the state. Officials said the vacancies are aimed at strengthening the state's law enforcement and emergency response infrastructure while addressing manpower shortages in key departments.

The Police Department accounts for the largest share of vacancies, with 3,697 Civil Police Constable posts and 1,052 Armed Reserve Constable posts. Recruitment will also be conducted for 148 Civil Sub-Inspectors, 23 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (FPB), 14 Reserve Sub-Inspectors (AR), 12 Reserve Sub-Inspectors (TGSP), 24 SARCPL Constables, 20 Driver Constables (PTO), seven Mechanic Constables, and three Reserve Sub-Inspectors (SARCPL).

The Special Protection Force will recruit 1,380 Constables and 44 Sub-Inspectors, while the Fire, Disaster Response and Civil Defence Department has announced 751 Firefighter posts and 39 Station Fire Officer vacancies. In the Prisons & Correctional Services Department, recruitment will be carried out for 196 Male Warders, 12 Female Warders, 14 Male Deputy Jailors, and one Female Deputy Jailor.

The TGPRB said the schedule for online applications will be announced separately. Eligible candidates will be able to submit applications through the board's official recruitment portal once the registration window opens.

Applicants must upload the required documents during the online application process, including the latest SC community certificates with Telangana's revised sub-classification where applicable, EWS certificates and Non-Creamy Layer certificates issued on or after April 1, 2026, along with bonafide or residence certificates from Classes 1 to 7 to establish local candidature. Candidates claiming reservations under special categories must also furnish the relevant supporting documents.

Officials have advised aspirants to carefully read the detailed notifications before applying, as the recruitment process will include eligibility verification, written examinations, physical tests for applicable posts, and document verification. The board is expected to release the complete examination schedule and application timeline in the coming days.
