Police Crack Down on Midnight Street Racing in Madhapur, Several Youths Arrested

A dramatic late-night police crackdown unfolded in Madhapur after groups of youngsters allegedly turned busy city roads into illegal racing tracks near the Niloufer Cafe area during the weekend.

According to police, several bikers and motorists gathered past midnight and engaged in dangerous street racing and stunt driving , ignoring repeated warnings from patrol teams. The situation escalated when officers attempted to stop the racers, but some of them allegedly refused to halt and instead drove aggressively towards police personnel in an attempt to escape.

Police teams immediately launched a chase operation and managed to surround multiple vehicles involved in the racing activity. In some instances, youths reportedly locked themselves inside their cars to avoid detention, forcing officers to break open the vehicle windows and pull them out.

Officials said a mild lathi-charge had to be used to bring the situation under control as some racers resisted police action and attempted to flee the scene.

Several youngsters were taken into custody and a number of cars and motorcycles were seized for endangering public safety and disturbing law and order. Police said the reckless racing and stunt culture during weekend nights has become a growing concern in the city, posing a serious threat to motorists and pedestrians alike.

Authorities warned that strict action would continue against those involved in illegal racing, overspeeding and dangerous road stunts, stressing that such activities could lead to fatal accidents.
