Police Complaint filed by Maganti Gopinath’s mother over son’s death

A formal police complaint has been filed by Mahananda Kumari, mother of the late Maganti Gopinath, seeking a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her son’s death, which occurred on June 8, 2025.

In the complaint, it has been alleged that access to Gopinath was denied to his family while he was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator. It has further been claimed that even after his death was officially declared, the family was not allowed to see him.

According to the complaint, hospital security reportedly acted on written instructions from Ms. Dishira, daughter of Sunitha, to prevent Mahananda Kumari from meeting her son. At the same time, it has been stated that K.T. Rama Rao was allowed unrestricted access to Gopinath, raising suspicions that certain actions may have been orchestrated to manipulate or influence the situation.

Allegations of medical negligence have also been raised. The complaint mentions that delays occurred in administering dialysis following a kidney removal procedure. Furthermore, it has been stated that security personnel and assigned gunmen, who were trained to provide emergency medical assistance such as CPR, were either absent or did not respond promptly when Gopinath collapsed.

The complaint seeks a thorough investigation into these matters, including the hospital’s role, the conduct of security personnel, and any possible lapses in medical care. Authorities have not yet confirmed the allegations, and investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding Gopinath’s death.

No official comments have been received from the hospital or other individuals mentioned in the complaint. The police have reportedly acknowledged receipt of the complaint and are said to have initiated preliminary inquiries.
