Polavaram Project Deserves to Be Named After Potti Sriramulu: Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on Monday expressed his view that the Polavaram Irrigation Project should be named after Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu, calling it a fitting tribute to the leader whose sacrifice shaped Telugu identity.

Addressing the party’s “Position–Responsibility” meeting, Pawan Kalyan said Polavaram was not just an irrigation project but a lifeline for Andhra Pradesh. He urged party representatives to see positions as instruments of public service, not power, and revealed that Jana Sena had received 3,459 nominated posts under the alliance, awarded purely on merit.

He said the party was built with a national outlook and inclusive ideology, rejecting caste-based politics. Stressing constitutional responsibility, he called for respectful political discourse, strong law and order, and people-centric governance.

The meeting concluded with leaders from various levels taking a pledge to remain accountable to the public and work towards building Viksit Andhra and Viksit Bharat.
